Terms & Conditions & General Rules 2026

1. Registration

1.1. A non-refundable annual registration fee of R450 is payable per student per year.
1.2. Re-registration fees for existing students are due by 1 December 2025.
1.3. New students must pay the registration fee prior to their first class.
1.4. The account holder must complete the online registration form available at www.dancefactor.co.za and acknowledge these Terms & Conditions and General Rules before enrolment.

2. Class Structure

2.1. Each class is 30 to 40 minutes long and held once per week per style.
2.2. Students taking multiple styles will receive 30–40 minutes extra per style per week.
2.3. If additional practice is needed, extra classes may be scheduled at the discretion of Dance Factor.
2.4. No classes will be held on:

• Public Holidays

• School Holidays

• Competition or Exam days
  Unless specifically arranged by Dance Factor.

3. Class Fees & Payments

3.1. Fees are calculated monthly and are payable in advance on the 1st of each month (January to December).
3.2. No fees are refundable, and no credit will be issued for missed classes.
3.3. No cancellations are accepted during Term 3 and Term 4. If notice is given in these terms, the account holder is still liable for full payment through December.
3.4. A late payment fee of R20 per day will apply to accounts paid after the 7th of each month.
3.5. One month’s written notice (via email) is required for cancellation of classes. Fees remain payable during the notice period.
3.6. Fees are subject to change in line with industry standard adjustments.

4. Fee Structure (2026)

• Registration Fee: R450 per student (annually, non-refundable)

• All fees calculated over a 12-month period (January – December)

5. Payment Method

• No cash or cheques accepted.

• Payments must be made via Internet Transfer (EFT) or Direct Deposit to:

6. Additional Costs

Fees do not include:

• Exam entry fees

• Competition entry fees

• Costumes

• Choreography for solo/duet/trio routines

Private choreography prices will be confirmed in 2026

7. Studio Rules & Etiquette

7.1. Dance Factor has the final discretion regarding a student’s participation in exams, competitions, and performances based on attendance and performance.
7.2. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late may not participate in that class.
7.3. All bags, shoes, and personal belongings must be left outside the studio.
7.4. Only water is allowed during class – no food or soft drinks.
7.5. No interruptions during classes. All queries must be directed to: admin@dancefactor.co.za
7.6. All cell phones must be switched off during class.

8. Choreography Policy

8.1. Parents must record solo/duet/trio choreography for home practice. Music will be provided.
8.2. No modifications to choreography are permitted by dancers or parents.
8.3. Violation of this rule may result in disqualification from performing under the Dance Factor name.

9. Attendance Policy

9.1. Students who miss 4 or more classes per term will not be eligible to participate in exams or competitions.
9.2. Parents are not permitted to video record exams.
9.3. Private catch-up lessons are available at R250 per 40 minutes.

10. Observations

10.1. Parents are invited to observe classes at the end of each term only.
10.2. No parent/guardian observation is allowed during regular classes.

11. Uniform / Dress Code (2026)

All official Dance Factor attire must be ordered online Only available in 2026. Students must wear:

• Jazz: DF leotard & DF tights

• Acrobatics: DF leotard & DF tights

• Lyrical: DF leotard & DF tights

• Hip-Hop: DF vest & DF tights

12. Liability

12.1. Dance Factor, its owners and staff shall not be held liable for any:

• Injury

• Illness

• Damage

• Loss

• Accident or death
  occurring before, during, or after classes, rehearsals, events, or outings.
  12.2. Students are only the responsibility of Dance Factor during scheduled class times.
